The Debose House

This house was built in 1923 and features the original brick exterior and hardwood floors. Located in the Cliffs at Walnut Cove the house is in-between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest but is still only 20 minutes from downtown. Our clients purchased this home in 2017 and after hosting their family for Thanksgiving and cooking for their family of four in their (at the time) less than 70 square-foot kitchen they decided it was time to expand. We built a new dining room off of the old dining room, which we converted into the current kitchen. The old kitchen was redesigned into a Butler’s Pantry and holds a full-sized freezer, wine fridge, and wet bar. The remodeled dining room (now kitchen) has open shelves, a steam oven, an in-wall coffee system, and a large quartz island with room for the whole family to gather around. One of our favorite parts of this remodel is the original windows looking from the Butler’s Pantry into the new dining room. The original exterior stone wall remains as well, serving as an accent wall in the dining room. We are very happy with the seamless transition of old to new. Our clients are excited to host future Thanksgivings with plenty of room for everyone.
